Weekend Recap

Hello Darlings!

How was your weekend? I felt it went by rather quickly.

The weekend started off really good. I had received my letter that I passed my State board exam to get my esthetician license.

We celebrated by doing nothing! HAHA Jacob and I were to tired to really do anything so we stayed in, had a lovely dinner, and caught up on some shows.

Saturday morning started a little off. We had a found a desk on craigslist for a really good price. It was in excellent condition and not that old. However the person selling it was most difficult and we finally gave up on it.

We decided to check out some sales at office depot and lucky for us they had a great deal going on. We went for the bundle and saved a little over $300 which is great and we got a 2 year warranty.

We finished running some errands and then spent the rest of the day putting this damn thing together. It was a bitch to say the least! LOL It does look really nice and fits nicely in our office/guest room.

As you can see from above picture I have been puling out all our office supplies and trying t organize everything. I am looking to find some really chic decor for it. We have also found a really good chair on amazon we are just waiting for it to arrive.

The desk we got is this one in the color expresso plus this hutch. The same sale that we got it for is sadly not still going on but the pieces are still on sale.

After a long long day haha on Saturday we did very little on Sunday. We had a few boxes to drop off at goodwill and make a grocery run. Our Sunday was really just a relaxing day to get ready for the week.

I hope your Monday has been good to you!

As always you can contact me on any social media or email.

Sephora Play July “16

Hello Darlings!

Happy hump day! The week is half way over already which is exciting.

Speaking of exciting I am no longer on the wait list for Sephora play and have received my first box this month!

For those that do not know, Sephora play is a monthly subscription box for $10. It comes with 5 samples from lines Sephora carries plus a fragrance sample as a bonus. (not much of a bonus in my opinion)

Each box also comes with a card like in picture above. If you bring this card in to a store you get a FREE one-on-one tutorial or advice just for you.

When you use this card if you purchase anything you get an extra 50 points! Which is really nice and on the back of card it tells you when it expires. This one does not expire till August 31st so plenty of time to use it.

Every month all the products come in a cute little bag. They are not as sturdy as an ipsy bag but I’m sure one could find a use for it. ( More on ipsy here and here)

As you can see I received the 5 samples and 1 fragrance sample. I would say the brands are really good and was happy with the samples.

Let’s get into the products!

First off is a primer from Smashbox. This is the photo finish pore minimizing primer which is recommended for combination to oily skin. A full size retails for $39. This reminded me a lot of Benefits POREfessional face primer in color and consistency. I have only used it a few times but I think it works really well as one can expect in this Oklahoma heat.

If you like the Porefessional one I would give this one a try since the full (largest size) of the Benefit one is $55!

Next, is a cleanser from First Aid Beauty which is a line I have become very fond of. This is a skin rescue deep cleanser w/ red clay to help remove excess oil while purifying  and balancing skin. Full size retails for $24.

I have not used this yet since I already have a cleanser open so I will keep you posted on my thoughts.

This bronzer from Too Faced not only is pretty but smells like chocolate! This is the Soleil Matte Bronzer in chocolate of course lol. It retails for $30 and it is a beautiful lightweight formula. I have used it as an all over bronzer to help give my pale face some color LOL. It looks really nice and natural.

This next product I’m not so sure about. Everyone knows about the beauty blender (if not it is a sponge used wet usually to apply makeup) and this sponge is made from the same company. This is the blotterazzi sponge that is used to blot off excess oil. It usually comes in a cute compact cast with 2 sponges and retails for $20.

They say it can be washed and reused which seems better than the blotting papers. I remember learning that when using blotting papers you are actually pushing in the days dirt and oil into your skin. They do remove the oil and a bit of makeup (you can see it on sponge) but not to noticeable. I would not but this personally but for someone who spends a lot on blotting papers might enjoy this.

The one hair care product I got was from Ouai which I have heard great things about but never tried anything. This is the Wave Spray that full size retails for $26. This gives hair that effortless look or beachy hair. I have not used this yet because I have tried several sprays like this and hate the way my hair looks.

I will give it a go and see if it is any different. As always I will keep you posted.

Lastly, is the fragrance sample. I have heard of NEST Before but never sampled it. This is the Citrine for $68 in full size. I have posted the notes of the scent above since I suck at explaining it. It is not a bad scent but not something I would normally wear. I would suggest swinging by the counter and testing it out yourself since everyone is different.

That concludes everything in the bag! I’d say not bad for the first one but I will give it a few months before deciding if it is worth it.

Any questions please ask! As always you can reach me at my social accounts or in the comment section.

Till next time,

Weekend Recap!

Hello Darlings!

How was your weekend? How was your Monday? I hope the weekend was long and the Monday was short!

This weekend was nothing special. Jake and I went to a few estate sales a found a few things for a good deal on Saturday morning. Than ran a errands and came home. I’m telling you our lives are that exciting HA! I wouldn’t chance it.

Sunday was a lounge day. We slept in, caught up on some shows (anybody watching stranger things on Netflix? we love it) made dinner and that was that.

We are hoping to make it out to the zoo one of these weekends soon but it has been so humid here. YUCK!

A few things coming to the blog this week will be a new mask I have been using, a few things I use to relax, and Sephora play unboxing.

I hope your weekend was full of great moments!

Till next time you can always find me on social media to chat!

Hada Labo Tokyo Skincare

Hello Darlings!

Today I want to share a few products from a skincare line I have been loving!

I am a subscriber to New Beauty Testtube which you can check out here if you would like to check it out!

I have done a few posts and videos of unboxing which you can check out here and here if you would like to see the kind of items it contains.

The last couple of boxes have had two items from this line which you can find here. The two items I have been introduced to and absolutely love are what we shall talk about today!

How cute is this packaging???!!!

The first product I started using was the replenishing hydrator. It comes in this cute packaging and its a PUMP! I find it to be more sanitizing when in a pump. I have been using this product for about a good month and a half! I use one pump in the AM and PM. I still have a few weeks left of product because one pump goes a long way.

You can buy this product here and it retails for $17.99. I already have another bottle. When I started using this I could tell it was very hydrating and my skin loved it. I have combination oily skin and this does not make it worse. I noticed in the areas where I get really dry ( my cheek areas, chin, and sometimes upper forehead) have been soaking this up. My makeup goes on smoother and I have not had one breakout due to this.

The main ingredient in this is Hyaluronic acid. This acid has a greater capacity to hold moisture. I am turning 30 this year (So glad I began a skin care routine in my early 20’s) so this helps my skin hold in moisture and with aging. As we get holder we want our skin to stay hydrated since mature skin can lack moisture resulting in loss of firmness.

Love facial masks!

I am a huge mask person! I have a huge collection of different masks for different skin issues. I do like having several of this face sheet masks because it is easy clean up and great for traveling.

This mask is for anti- aging. It contains deep hydration with hyaluronic acid. The mask also includes soy peptides, collagen, and vitamin E which all aid in anti-aging.

You can pick up a box of these here for $14.99. Each box has 4 masks. I like to enjoy a bath and leave my mask on for about 15-20 mins. Remember with sheet masks the extra serum (liquid) left in pouch is great for applying to neck. Sometimes we forget that our neck shows our age.

I didn’t say it would be pretty! LOL

As you can see from the picture above it is simple to apply. It feels cool and refreshing when applied. As I said before this is perfect for easy clean up. Simply remove and throw away. I always pat the extra serum on my face into the skin.

There are a few other products from this line I would like to try. As I do so I will keep you updated on the results.

If you have dry skin or aging like the rest of us I would highly recommend these! You can not beat the price for such good skincare.

It is getting to be late and I still need to do a few other things before bed.

As always if you have any questions please comment below or contact me by email or social media. All links are provided above.

Have you tried or heard of this company?! I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below.

Till next time

Weekend Recap!

I have officially completed the Esthetics Program!

Hello Darlings!

How was everyones 4th of July long weekend?! Jake and I did not do much which is the way I prefer it! We did visit family over the weekend but we spent Monday at home before back to work on Tuesday.

So a few things have happened since my last post.

First, as you can see above I finished estics school. I am now just waiting to take the state board exam later this month. I am thrilled to be done and move on to my next adventure.

Can you believe July is already here?! This year is moving right along and I’m not complaining one bit.
