Bright Cellars: Monthly Wine @ Home

Hello Darlings!

I thought it being Friday that a Wine post was perfect! To make it even better this is about a company that sends you wine’s monthly based on your likes!

Bright Cellars is a monthly subscription that delivers four bottles of wine right to your door! This is great for those trying to find out what wines they like, new wines, or just something new in general.

First, you take a short quiz so they can better match you to wines they think you will love. Then, they will send you a list of the wines they think match you. You get a little description of each one and if you don’t think it’s for you you can swap it.

You can skip a month or cancel at anytime. When I took my quiz they surprised me with a link where I got a fifth bottle for free! Bright cellars offers points for reviews of the wines you receive plus that helps them make sure they are matching you right.

If you are a beer drinker like myself this paper was interesting. (Don’t worry in your own box you will get one that you can actually read…lighting was terrible) This is a guide to help you figure out what kind of wine you might like based on what kind of beer you like.

Based on my quiz results these where the bottles I got.

  1. Lawson’s Ridge Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon 2015: This is an Australian blend full of black cherry, blackberry, and plum aromas. On the palate you should notice black pepper, spice, and a touch of oak. This is ideally paired with barbecued or grilled meats & smoked cheese.

2. Leaping Lizard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014: California wine with ripe juicy raspberry, plum, and cherry flavors as well as some hints of pepper in the finish. Best paired with braised beef short ribs-also goes well with bold cheeses.

3. Mare DI Vetro Aglianico 2015: A dark sultry full bodied red wine w/ flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum and coca spice in the finish. Paired with smoked meats or hard cheeses.

4. Forty Winks Chenin Blanc 2015: orchard fruit flavors like yellow apples and pears balanced by tropical aromas or guava and passion fruit, also with floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine. Paired with vegetable stir-fry or with fresh goat cheese & honey.

5. Porta D’oro Pinot Grigio 2015: Fresh light bodied Pinot from Venezie, has notes of crisp green apples, tart lemon, and ripe peach, and just a hint of soft florals & honey. Paired with light seafood pasta or a bruschetta w/ fresh mozzarella.

I am really curious to see how well a quiz can match wines to someone. I will admit when I see the notes and what it would be paired with I have high hopes but I can be tricky or picky… ever you choose to look at it.

If you like or love wine Bright Cellars is worth checking out. I plan to give it a few months and if i keep getting wines that are not my type haha I will pass.

I will of course keep you posted on how this goes! I’m sure in Monday’s recap there might be one review!

Weekend Recap: Celebrating, New living room pieces

Hello Darlings!

How was your weekend? What did you do? State fair?

Mine started off good on Friday with new furniture pieces being delivered. We got some really nice glass tables (will show pictures soon) a new couch with a chair.

The last piece we had was just a huge couch with two L’s meaning it was a sectional. I knew it would over run our APT but we gave it a few months anyway.

I felt it was time to trade it in for something else so we did. We are slowly adjusting to a smaller couch hahaha.

Saturday was Jake’s Birthday ( he turned 26!!!) we started off the day with him opening his gifts! He has really been wanting the Viktor and Rolf: Spicebomb cologne since last year. He was surprised and happy to get it.

He received a few other smaller things and then we headed out to the farmers market.

Around lunch we decided to go to Eischens which is a bit of a drive but worth it every time. You can read all about it here.

If you follow me on Snapchat (becca_Beeley) you already know we went for a walk in the park with JJ (our dog) and she was not having it!

Till the next time!

Influenster JingleBox

Hello Darlings!

I was recently chosen to be part of the Influenster JingleBox. If you are not familiar with Influenster it is a program anybody can sign up for and you have the opportunity to be chosen for boxes of completely FREE products. They range from beauty to food. Check out my other post here and here to see other boxes I have received to get a better idea of the type of products.

Some boxes are bigger than others it just depends on what products and how many are involved in that box. There are some tasks asked of you such as pictures or reviews on a website but it is the least one can do for the free products given.

In this box there where a few makeup items, 2 food items, 1 skin care and 1 hallmark item.

Lets start off with the beauty products! IMG_5305.jpg

I did a whole post here about the lashes and lash glue. (spoiler alert I love them!)

In this same post the look I created I not only used the glue w/lashes but the eyeliner that in this box as well. I will not be going in to detail on these products since I have a whole post dedicated to them.

They are cheap yet really good products! I highly recommend them which you will learn in my post here.

IT is very true black and creamy.
NYC City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeliner

The polish is from a brand I have tried over the years. I feel it is a hit or miss with some of the colors. It is by Pure Ice in the color Deja VU. I will say the color is really pretty but it takes about 3 coats to really give off the color I want. If you have time for that it might not be a problem but I hate waiting around for my nails to dry. lol

Pure Ice has some really pretty color and they are only $1.97 at Walmart. I have had only colors that went on really well. This color has glitter in it and not all glitter polishes go on like a dream, so maybe try a different color first.

The one item in skin care for this box is a good one! I love the brand Cetaphil. The cleanser is really good! SO when I saw the sample of Cetaphil moisturizing cream I was excited to try it. It is really moisturizing and it did not make me break out. It doesn’t really have a scent which is nice. It absorbed quickly and it fantastic for my extremely dry skin at the moment (Thx cold ass weather) This product ranges from $8.99-$15.99 depending on the size. You can find this at Target along with other products from them. (seriously try their cleanser)

Sometimes in these boxes they give you coupons to get the product they want you to try. It is still free but the product would not last in box.

For example they sent a coupon for for this brand of tots and all I had to do was go to the store and pick them up and check out with the coupon. ( you can find these at your local store and Walmart also and they don’t have to be the exact ones in pic)

Then other food can travel just fine. Like the these little cookie packets. OMG these are amazing! I enjoyed them with my afternoon tea while I either worked or read. I am not real sure where you can get these so I found them on amazon and I will be ordering them because they are a good price!

Okay Last but not least is this little stuffed animal from Hallmark. They are the Hallmark itty bittys. From what I have gathered is that they are collectables and they range from all sorts of characters. I got Olaf from the movie frozen. I am giving mine to my little sister since she is in love with frozen.

Wow! I feel this was a really long post! Sorry about that but I wanted to cover all the products in this JingleBox!

Comment below if you are an influenster! I would love to see what you get in the boxes you receive!

Feel free to ask me any question by email ( or twitter (@JustRobecca) about anything on your mind.

I also have a snapchat (Becca_Beeley) and an Instagram (JustRobecca) come say hello!

Simple + Yummy Sweet Potato Fries!

Hello Darlings!

How excited are you for Halloween?! Anybody doing one of the 5 ideas I posted????

I would love to see some pics if you did! insta (JustRobecca) or snap me! (becca_beeley)

Since it is fall sweet potatoes are every where! I love them (without the marshmallows) I like them in a baked potato form for most of my life but now it’s all about the fries!

You guys know that I am cleaning up my eating habits (slow process) and fries are my BAE!

Jake likes fries when I make my turkey burgers so now I have been doing this simple recipe.

Sweet Potato recipe:

Bake oven to 420

Cut sweet potatoes into 1/2 inch slices (no need to be perfect love)

place in a bowl with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and parsley (I add a pinch of cayenne)

after it is all mixed place on baking sheet (place foil or parchment paper I prefer foil)

Bake for 20-25 mins depending on how your oven heats (mine is high so 20 is enough)

I don’t dip mine into anything but Jake likes to deep his in honey mustard (GROSS)

It is small changes like this that help

We have even given up burger buns and just eat my green chili turkey burgers ( burger post here) protein style (wrapped in leaf lettuce)

I hope you will give this a try!

Happy Halloween loves!!!! ????

Adult Halloween Ideas!

Hello Darlings!

This most is for those that adults that still love halloween but can not enjoy trick or treating ( it would be creepy!)

If you have been following me for awhile you know Jake and I do not have kids but halloween is my favorite holiday!!! Yea thanksgiving and Christmas are great but they are no halloween!

  1. Carving pumpkins are fun no matter what age! It is actually a lot better as an adult because you can have festive drinks ( or just the Octoberfest beer lol) with great snacks.

With that you can have a contest of who does the best pumpkin! If you are hosting go ahead and have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place it will make the contest that more exciting.

2.  Host a Halloween party. This could be at your house or rent a community center. Have the girls over to help decorate while testing the food and drinks! You can also have a costume contest too.

3. I don’t believe you are to hold to go to a pumpkin patch. Jake and I are going this weekend to take a hay ride, drink hot chocolate, and enjoy the corn maze.

4. Get a group together and go to the best haunted house. I use to do this every halloween back in wichita. We had a blast every time.

5. Just stay at home and hand out candy. It is really fun to just relax and see all the trick or treaters. Then after 8pm curl up with a bowl of popcorn and watch a good scary movie!

IF you had no plans for this weekend I hope this list of 5 ideas will give you some inspiration.

Let us know in the comments below what you do for halloween!
