Tips during flu/cold season

I have recently become a victim of the COLD season! It took me hostage for a good week! I know this season has gotten some of us all and thought I would share some of my tips to make it out alive lol!

Now I’m not a doctor… these are just some of my personal tips and tricks

First- WATER!! Can not stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated. Even when you don’t feel like it you should still sip on water.

Two- Since your body is dehydrated your skin will get really dry and that when my miracle worker GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment Masque. This baby is a girls best friend when your face needs hydration! I put this on every night before bed and then rinse it off in morning and my skin feels amazing.

It has not caused any breakouts!!! Plus it goes on clear and your skin soaks it right up so no worries on getting your bedding dirty!! Win Win

Three- my little hot tea recipe (a lot of people do this just have different ingredients more or less) I use Lemon Ginger by YOGI and Green Tea Super Antioxidant by YOGI. Then I add 1 Tablespoon of pure honey, 1 Tablespoon of Apple cider Vinegar, 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, a pinch of fresh cracked black pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Apple cider vinegar and Lemon is said to help thin and loosen mucus. Black pepper is said to help you cough up all the loosened mucus. Cayenne pepper is anti-inflammatory and helps clear up your sinus passages. Honey is a soother. It is so sticky it coats your throat and helps sooth your irritated throat.

Last but not least- Hot Toddy- I drank 2 of these in the evening before bed and sometimes during the day when my cough was so bad I couldn’t nap like my body needed. (Adults ONLY) I know some people make it with hot black tea but I just use hot water. I add one cinnamon stick (I’m sure the powder would work as well) 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of pure honey, and one shot of Jack Daniels Honey whiskey. Stir it around a bit and bottoms up.

I find it numbs my throat and calms my cough enough my body can relax and I can sleep peacefully for a few hours before my cough attacks come back.

Again I’m no Doctor just someone who hates taking over the counter meds when have the time they don’t work. At least with these I know what I’m using and they work for me. NOW I’m not saying don’t’ go to the doctor these are just helpful tips that I use when I have a cold.
